Inspirada en el modo de composición de “Lieux de passage” de Antoine Beuger, “Five little pieces” (Tomás Gris) juega en igual medida a la improvisación y a la composición. Compuesta para instrumento en clave de Fa y acompañamiento, en esta ocasión ejecutada con trombón (Tomás Gris) y laptop (David Area), muestra una línea fija formada por cinco pequeñas piezas, divididas a su vez en dos partes. El silencio es el lugar común de los instrumentistas: el silencio entre cada una de estas partes. El resto de lugares son libres para el acompañamiento, y en cierta medida flexibles para el instrumento “rector”.
La grabación realizada por Area y Gris muestra una adecuación muy exacta entre la sonoridad del trombón y el de la electrónica que proporcionan las “sine waves” y el ruido errático del cortocircuito. Ruina y composición, azar y control, se dan la mano en esta actualización de la composición.

Composed for bass clef and accompaniment, in this case ejecuted with trombone (Tomás Gris) and laptop (David Area), shows a line formed by five little pieces and each piece divided in two parts. Silence is the common place for the players. Silence between each piece. The rest of the places are free for the accompaniment and, in some way, flexible for the master instrument.
The record by Area and Gris shows a very accurate fitness between the sound of the trombone and the sound of the electronics devices (sine waves and short circuit´s erratic noise). Ruin and composition, random and control, “shake their hands” in this actualization of “Five little pieces”.
